Cephalotus is a beautiful and unique carnivorous pitcher plant from Australia, splashed with striking patterns, red accents, and some almost transparent areas in the hoods of the pitchers. A valued addition to any carnivorous plant collection.
Please be aware that young Cephlaotus are extremely small plants without mature pitchers. Young Cephalotus are usually between one-half inch (small clump) and two inches (XXL clump) in total diameter. Potted plants are shipped in our preferred potting medium of 50% peat and 50% 12-grit silica sand, topped with 12-grit silica sand. Venus Flytraps are already unique and rare, but Wacky Traps is truly an awesomely wacky Venus Flytrap, sporting jagged traps that goes this-way-and-that, never what you expect. It is made of uniquely thick plant tissue, giving it a cactus-like feel, and providing hardiness against the elements. It can develop cool spotted red-toned coloration on the trap interiors. Plumechon is a Venus flytrap cultivar with abnormally thick cilia ("teeth") that have multiple tiny forks at the distal end of the teeth and traps with good red coloration.
Much like Coquillage, Adentate has extremely reduced marginal spines for teeth, which makes them look like little "bumps" on the trap margins. However, Adentate grows very upright in contrast to Coquillage's year-round low growth.
"Candy Cane" is similar to "Bullseye" in appearance, having traps that grow erect in the spring and summer with wavy and irregular edges and often non-existent teeth. "Candy Cane" tends to have trap interiors that are more red than Bullseye.
