'Alien' is a Venus fly trap clone originating from Europe that has extremely elongated traps and unique looking teeth that give it the appearance of the terrifying alien from Ridley Scott's famous film. Its traps can grow surprisingly large, and it is a very hardy cultivar.

Traps, reaching 4cm to 5cm on adult 'Alien' flytraps, are abnormally long and narrow and extremely arched. Marginal lashes are short, pointed and somewhat widely spaced with additional tiny bumbs or nubs between each marginal lash. In addition to often having four or more standard-sized trigger hairs, each trap interior can have dozens of extremely tiny red hairs. Alien's traps can capture prey but often do not close well because the laminae of the trap are thick and brittle.
