Just received some Sarracenia alata seeds. Should I go about stratifying them in the fridge for 4 weeks on a slightly moist paper towel in a bag or should I go with a different approach? Too happy!! Sorry for the obvious questions! Still a newbie to these and wanna make sure they grow happy and healthy!

Paper towel method works great, never had any problems with it and good germination rates but I like 6 weeks better than 4 that's just my personal preference though.

Good luck with my seeds. I always do 4 weeks in a moist paper towel for these S. alata. I usually get around 95%+ germination rate.

Thanks for the seeds! Also how long are Sarracenia seeds good for bc I know flytraps start to lose viability after a little bit?

If you keep them in the fridge they will last for years.

Ok! Should I keep them in the bag they came in or in a moist paper towel?

Always store seeds dry. Only use a moist paper towel or another source of moisture if you are stratifying them.

Most seeds maintain much better viability dry than wet.
