Hi guys,

Hi guys, i had just recently bought DROSERA BINATA seeds from ebay.l(look at attachment.)I had sowed them for 2.5 month in agar .But they never seem to germinate.i expecting they are not seeds but just some dry flower material.Anyone know whether are they seeds.If you have a picture of those seeds you can also post it here.

Thanks for your reply.I usually germinate sundew seed in agar because sundew seedlings had tiny roots and usually grow into gap found in the soil.When this happen i usually lost the plant.

I would have thought they will only germinate in agar if you use a Micropropagation method

Yes it will work.I just add some sugar to the agar to quicken the speed of the sundew seedlings
But do rot after a month or so...I will have to change the agar again.

Why not just sift the peat so it's a fine tilth? Then they would have no problem at all...

Nothing wrong with germinating seeds on agar, my brother does it at his lab job at the university all the time, makes it so you don't have to worry about light water or temperature as much, and you won't lose any really small ones.

May i know what kind of agar?
Id like to try this to^^

i just use those agar from the suppermarket and add lots of sugar usually as much as the water can dissolve.they indeed grew faster than in soil.But one thing that that exact agar have not rot till now
