According to the ICPS website page on Drosera chromosones,

D. imtermedia has a 2n chromosone count of 20 with 2X ploidy.

D. capensis has a 2n chromosone count of 40 with 4X ploidy.

So I don't think they can be crossed without dosing everybody with colchicine. For best results, plants should have the same count and ploidy number, I think.

But that being said, go give it a try and see what happens. After all, according to science, bumblebees should not be able to fly. (At least that's what I was taught almost 60 years ago.)

Good growing,
Mike

Different chromosome count doesn’t prevent hybridization. Take D. tokaiensis, for instance. It’s a species that originated with a sterile hybrid of D. spatulata and D. rotundifolia, which have 2n=40 and 2n=20 chromosomes respectively.

The hybrid is sterile with a could of 2n=30, but when the count is doubled, it makes the fertile species, with 2n=60.
