Edit: does that window gets lots of sunlight, you know sarras do good outside as long as temps stay fairly high in the 40F.
One more thing to remember is that sarras are native to USA, maybe they just need protection against birds and squirrel.

As for the window, it gets a good amount of light. But living in Montana, more to the point, the upper part of Montana, means the light comes in at a different angle than most of the country gets. I'm also surrounded by mountains
Putting them outside isn't really an option for about 9 months out of the year, as up here, it has snowed every month of the year, though summer is
usually safe. Current temps are hovering around freezing before windchill, with daytime highs in the 5ºC/40ºF range. Even during summer the nighttime temps can be shockingly low.
Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm going to be buying a house in the next year or two (currently living in an apartment) with some land, so I'm looking at making a greenhouse so that I can really indulge my Carnivorous Plant addiction.
