That is mold my friend. Increase airflow. What are your conditions and how are you watering them?

Not often for them. Once a week at most. Top of soil is often dry

Do you feed them, or did this mold just pop up randomly? I could see this happening if some wet fish food got stuck by the lid, but if they are unfed then this mold is more interesting. Either way, the cure is the same I would just remove it, possible swab the area with isopropyl and increase airflow.

perhaps we were dealing with mold also with ours, was told in a few places powdery mildew but we had some crystalized looking fuzzy's like this also - I made the assumption they were both the same whoops!
