What is this thing? It popped up in one of my sundew pots and I just let it go because it looks awesome!

No idea...but it looks very cool!

u're refering to the insect on the tip?
orchid or flower mantis? A very young one perhaps. My country, I havent seen one.

Omg theres a bug in there??? I thought it was part of the plant. I need to investigate!

I got confused.. did u said u u saw something and let it go? was it the flowery thing on top? I tot it was a flower mantis. Maybe i misinterpret your words

He meant "let it go" as in let it continue to grow.

Idk what that plant is but those mantis' look so cool. Wish i had one.

It looks like a slipper orchid almost...
I say let it be.
If it is a mantis it will move, if not it is probably a plant.

There was no mantis in there lol it does kinda look like it though. I was thinking it was some type of orchid as well, the pink stem is very pretty. When it gets a little bigger and more developed I'll take some updated photos and we can solve this mystery.

It still looks a lot like a slipper orchid of some sort, some of which are native to the USA...

It actually sprouted a second flower "head" I'll take a picture when I get home from work in the morning.

Could you give us a picture of the lower part of the plants, with the leaves?

There really inst much else to the plant, there's two tiny leave on the pink stem, but that's it, and those are visible in the picture. I forgot to get an updated picture this morning, I'll do it after work today.
