I’ve attached a few pictures to this. I’m currently growing these under the same lights I use for microgreens. I use a fan for air movement and it’s winter here. My cape sundews are doing great in these conditions but the rest of my sundews are losing their dew and the leaves start dying. Is it the grow medium? The lighting? Too much air movement? Temp?

All of them except the aliciae look like extremely healthy specimens to me. May be time for a repot though. The older leaves losing dew is perfectly normal as the individual leaf eventually dies. I would definitely repot the aliciae and then bag it. It may just be the soil media deteriorating.

I’m not sure what the humidity is, it’s probably 30% is my guess since I’m in an old house and it’s winter. I have my temp set to 72 degrees, lights are on 14 hours. I potted these just a couple months ago. Do you think a 1:1 mix of perlite and peat would be better than the spaghnum? I don’t think it’s dormancy either because they were all covered in dew until like a week ago and healthy, now they are losing their dew and a the Aliciae and natalensis are starting to develop brown leaves. I had to pull out two larger natalensis because they just withered away

Another factor to consider that I faced myself before I knew it was water conditions. For instance, I use Reverse Osmosis water that is approx. 9ppm. I fill the trays and when they evaporate I'll refill them. When it evaporates however, the trace minerals, metals, etc remain in the water left over and it begins to gradually increase the ppm. You end up with trays sitting well beyond 50ppm sometimes and over time it'll affect the plants. I noticed my plants beginning to sulk and lose their dew (I was going to clean the algae from the trays). After I cleaned it up and got them some better water, I ran some water through the tops of the pots to flush it back into the tray and after a few days they were looking much better.

Something to consider if you use RO water (or even distilled, it pulls trace minerals from peat/LFS)

This is helpful! I recently made a post about my Venusta starting to sulk, this may be a cause
