Just keep an eye on them while they soak, and if they sprout, transfer them back to the media. :)

Ok. So I found all of the seeds (thought one was lost but it turned up somehow in the water) and put them in rain water and all of them have sunk. Is that good or bad? One floated when I first put it in but then sunk.

Hi SFLguy

Thank you for your reply :) I hope it works for them as I can't wait any longer to welcome new little seedlings into the world :)

Remember that these seeds can take months to germinate (at their worst) so don't be discouraged if nothing happens for a bit

No I know. I think I will get a full grown plant eventually but I'll wait until my seeds have germinated :) will my Dad's seeds germinate? I don't know if they will and I keep saying to plant them but they've been sitting around since Father's Day (15th June 2014). I'll probably give him some of mine if they don't though. :)

The seeds sinking is a good thing. When you resow them, make sure they stay moist and warm, and just wait! They can be stubborn and take 4-8 weeks to germinate. Sometimes they can take even longer! Good luck!

Ok that's great thank you. Yes I think I definitely got the stubborn lot lol. I was worried at the beginning that they weren't fly trap seeds but they look exactly like the seeds in pictures (small, black and shiny). What about my Dad's lot? :)

I would say the same thing for them. If they haven't germinated, try soaking and resowing.

Should I plant the seeds root down? Only I just put them on the surface of the soil on their sides or does is not matter? Thank you :)

Just place them on the soil, they'll orient themselves. If his haven't been sown yet, soak them prior to sowing.
