Evenwind, I am only submitting the top picture for the contest, as stated in the post, so do I still need to delete the other picture? Like I stated in the post, it was only added to share with and show everyone this unheard of growth rate for this species. 🙂

Here is my royal poinciana tree (Delonix regia), up close. If you have never seen one in full bloom, you may not understand why it's called "Flamboyan" in spanish.

I don't have much of a green thumb with things other than carnies. What we do grow around here is a teenage daughter, 3 horses, 2 dogs, and a stray cat who is insistent that he live inside.
