My first ping and I have had a rocky relationship. I bought it over the summer from etsy. I made the mistake of not taking the root blocker off and it never got sticky. Once I finally repotted and took off all the pups that had formed it started looking much healthier. It's good and sticky and catches fungus gnats but is turning very brown on the bottom. I just lost a fly trap to root rot so that was a concern but these leaves are crunchy and not soggy. The plant is in the middle of throwing up 2 flowers as well. I was to understand that they don't flower unless happy... Is my crunch brown and very small ping actually happy enough for 2 flowers?? All the pups that I separated seem to be thriving. I do have them in a tray of water and under a grow light. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Looks alright to me. When it's just old leaves dying back it shouldn't be anything to worry about, and this is about when the flowering season starts (depending on your location of course.)

Mine are also starting to flower now. Most of mine died back last winter and I thought they had died out, but came back from roots in the media, Plus more pups too. Looks OK to me too. Just don't keep them too wet during the winter. Also, I'm finding out that my warm temperates like to be top watered, right on the plant and kept more wet than the mexican pings, at least when growing. I do not know if this is common experience.
