Really think this species is underrepresented on the forum. This ain’t the place for argonauts and squids, but all Cephalotus pictures welcomed! Let us see your ceph!

Heres a ceph seedling time photo to kick start:

It took around 10 months with the encouragement of 2-3 osmocote at base.

Hmm guess cephalotus not that popular compare to other pitcher plants and this might become just another journal lol. Anyway heres a BE Clone and Eden Black with moss removed. BE clone was light deprived resulting much slower growth rate. Image

Well here's an unusual story. . I did a way overdue re- pot today. And to my surprise this was buried deep below the surface. I mean really deep in the pot . No light whatsoever 😕 hopefully it survives. But I know my cephalotus is going to be quite angry and p***ed off at me for a while now  Here's the mother plant :D too.

That mother plant is absolutely gorgeous! Is that a specific clone? The off shoot underground looks very interesting and reminds me of N.Pudica, although she prob didn’t intend for the baby to be there lol. It should make it look how tiny mine was!

The mother plant is the first cephalotus I ever bought. It's only known as purple/ black. I don't believe it ever was a registered cultivar :D

I mix the media with peat, pumice, coco coir and over 50% of aquarium grade silica sand. On the top layer I put half an inch thick of pure silica sand. Pot is moist but never allowed to sit in water. They thrive under LED. Temp wasn’t an issue in CA summer on a shaded balcony. They take cold quite well. 2-3 osmocote used at root base every half a year or so.

As with the white stick discovered in the soil, I’m very interested and would like to see a photo!
