They do look very happy. None of my plants showed any interesting combination of traits either. I have a couple red individuals but they don’t look much different from a typical ‘Big Pink’.

Was thinking about it, but perhaps crossing the red offspring with Hercules may get closer to the result you were hoping for?

I came back here to update the photos of the hybrid created by DesertLlama, if I'm lucky I might have seeds soon.
Thank you DesertLlama.

I'm resurrecting this topic to demonstrate how amazing the hybrid made by DesertLlama was, the leaves are turning red and they are clearly wider than a regular Big Pink, the hybrid has become very beautiful, congratulations DeserLlama ;)

FYI - Crossing two varies of the same species doesn't qualify as a hybrid.

If the parent plants were afflicted with inbreeding depression (too much self-pollination or pollination from close relatives), then cross-breeding the two plants would "let in a breath of fresh air". That usually gives their offspring a boost in hardiness and vigor.

That's just the term. I wasn't very clear. Sorry. :? Thanks for the correction.
