Good Afternoon Everyone,

I bought some sarracenia seedlings this winter. My first time with sarracenia other than purple pitcher plant. When I got them bare root they had little pitchers. I planted them up and stuck them outside. Now they are coming back but don’t look anything like when I got them. Others are coming up with just pitchers. Is this what some look like when young or am I growing weeds? Before planting I washed all peat and LFS off the roots. Sorry for the question but like I said It’s my first time with them.

Looks like you have some grass in with the Sarracenia seedlings. The bright green stuff is grass that you'll want to pull out. The small yellowish-red plants are the baby Sarracenia, so be sure not to disturb them when you pull out the grass.

It's odd how they grew in around each of them like that though lol. Having that sandy mix is going to be a blessing when pulling that stuff out.

That’s why I had to ask. The grass grew around 7 pitcher plants like that and others just pitchers came up. Yeah the sandy mix made it pretty easy to get rid of the grass. :D
