I grew a small number of flytraps from seed produced by my plants in 2017 and 2018. I haven’t taken great care of them — soil compaction, underfeeding, some drying out incidents, tiny pots, overgrowth of moss and sundews. The seedlings from 2017 even got blasted by temperatures up to 110°F in tiny, black pots with no shade at all.

I repotted them today and took loads of photos. First are the biggest 5 seedlings from 2017. Here they are bareroot:

And potted up into a 5.5"x5.5"x6" pot:

And the smaller seedlings from 2017 also up-potted into the same sized pot (I got rid of a few):

And my 2018 seedlings, which sprouted around September (and were neglected badly). Here is one bareroot. You can see why they need deeper pots, even at this tiny size and having grown in compacted soil:

Potted up into a small, square, tall pot:

My 2018 seedlings with a typical from the supermarket and a plant sown in 2012 that had to be re-grown from a tiny chunk of rhizome (it’s a sibling of the seedling’s parents):

For completeness purposes, here are some photos of the parents. They’re big, fast growing, hardy flytraps grown from seed I purchased from FTS.

Here’s an update on some of the little guys post-repotting. It’s gotten hotter, so the coloration has diminished somewhat, but they’ve grown a lot.
