Hey I've recently been studying the phylogeny of the drosera genus and the Droseraceae family and in doing so have come up with questions of the possibilities of various hybrids. One which has intrigued me is a possible cross between Drosera Capensis and Drosera Cistiflora. The cross should theoretically work as the plants are closely related and share an equal number of chromosome pairs. The offspring should also be viable having 20n = 40 chromosomes. The cross would be interesting due to the growing patterns of both plants and the remarkable flower size of D. Cistiflora. So I was wondering if anyone has attempted this or knows if this is already in cultivation possibly under name other than Drosera Capensis x Cistiflora? Yeah and due to the different plant growth size and patterns it would definitely make a neat plant.
