From Central Texas:

I have a lovely patio, I thought I'd add Venus Flytrap to my fly control arsenal. They look spectacular, & will make great conversation piece. So it time to learn, how to take care, of these beautiful carnivores.

Hello! Central Texas is a surprisingly good place to grow carnivorous plants. The hardest part is keeping them wet in the summer. But if you can do that, then Sarracenia, flytraps, and lots of sundews can do really well outside here.

VFTs can be bothered by the heat between June and September if they’re in full sun in the afternoon around here. But there’s a lot of ways around that — shade cloth, big pots, only giving them full sun in the morning.
