Saw my first sign of pests today. A pitcher chewed in half and some worm droppings. I usually spray at the first sign of growth but didnt this year so I guess thats what I get. Its also why im big on preventative spraying versus reactive spraying...you lose pitchers

what do you use for preventative spray?

Would Bayers insecticide work?

Atm I'm using ortho rose and flowet insect and disease control:). Bayer should be fine.

For caterpillar control, using BT works & is much less toxic. This is especially important in the spring as using a systemic pesticide may kill (or damage) pollinators visiting the flowers.

That's what I use. It's cheaper than the Bayer hehe, so that's why I got it.

Dionae, would you recommend I spray my plants now too? I had some very minor caterpillar damage, should I nuke now or just hold off a while?

I'd recommend you nuke at your own discretion:). Be careful around flowers with the ortho though.
