ThanksD. regia are special amongst drosera in that they have very thick, black roots. Usually all you need to do is cut a 2 inch section, embed it just below the surface of 1:1 peat:perlite, keep it moist, give it good strong light, and wait a few weeks. At least that's what I did and got 5 plants out of 3 root cuttings.
