Sometimes I've seen pics of people using similar deep jar lids in there TC with that micro tape stuff around to seal it further. What's your thoughts?
If I can save money on those special caps by just using these files r now that would help.

Pretty much any lid that seals decently will work just fine, I think, provided you're using PPM.

As Matt has already stated, those will work alright. Dont tighten them completely while in the autoclave, as they could explode.
After cooling make the lid snug but not air tight. We wrap our lids/jars with cling film, 2 turns. Cut the roll down (be careful) to 1" sections it will last you forever. Dont buy the cheap stuff use a name brand it works better.
Wrapping with micropore tape is overboard.

@Matt, @nicszabo, brilliant thanks guys, that helps a lot knowing then I can find containers easier and now just have to worry about getting the other essentials.
