That's not grass. The coloring of the stem reminds me of celosia when it germinates. The leaf color of celosia is different, but that could be due to lower light levels. Without seeing it's true leaves you'll never know though.

Thanks. Yeah that light is not really intense, just a jump start and not full spectrum.

What about so called Black Orchid? Does such a species exist at all?

There are species of orchid that grow black flowers, yes, but you aren't going to find any of them available as seeds. Orchids are almost always sold as plants, and, if you do find orchid seeds available for sale, they should have a Latin name and variety attached. And I can pretty much guarantee that any seed seller out of China, especially if they're on Ebay, is selling fake seeds.

I know that too! I order Nepenthes seeds from Indonesia and neighboring countries. Always good stuff.

This time it suppose to be from Indonesia as well but arrived from China! I planted it anyways though... there are Orchid species in China, so I gave it a try.

Offtopic: Then those Chinese buy everything in Vancouver!

In Indonesia, there IS a "black orchid" (Anggrek hitam), but it's not all black, Coelogyne pandurata. Seeds are not for sale.
