What is the red thing growing at the base of my sundew? it looks as if it is growing into the soil.
I am assuming it is something normal. have had this plant for 3 months now and i noticed it about a month ago. This is my first plant i have owned.

Welcome to the forum!
The thing pictured is an aerial root.
It is perfectly normal and a very good thing.
As Drosera capensis grow, they form a vertical stalk.
At intervals, an aerial root is formed, drops into the media and brings up water and goodies from the media.
