I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. First try at germinating drosera and have achieved germination of 7 of 7. Yay me. Lets just hope I can keep them in their happy zone while they are small. :)

Seeds planted 7/31
germinated 8/13-8/16

D. Binata
D. Spatulata
D. Bumannii
D. Finlaysoniana
D. Capensis giant
D. Capensis typical

Germinated Capensis red in July.

Still waiting to germinate-

VFT typical

So nice to hear that. Pics please..
XD

My seeds havent germinated since July 5th. Hahaha..
And my breeder refused to tell me what he gave me.
I only know he has Filiformis, burmanii, sessilifolia, capillaris long leaf, intermedia, tokaiensis.
I hope mine can germinate as fast as yours

Isn't that the truth! Lol. I'm not much for keeping track of my germination rates though.

Great job kjnorris!

Is that some kind of rock garden thing you're doing? Or should I get another cup of coffee, so my eyes will focus?

Lol. I see what your saying, but no I just cut down a paper egg carton and filled each hole with peat, put in a Ziploc and placed on my windowsill. It helps give me the advantage as it holds moisture so if I have a spacey moment they are okay. Lol.

Okay, that makes sense. It can be hard to tell in pics sometimes, especially when the coffee isn't strong enough. Lol

Happy growing!

It probably would have helped if I took one from a distance also. Haha I feel ya on the weak coffee. Lol

They are so cute. Haha. Are these large enough to feed, or should I wait until they are a little bigger.

The Annuals like D. burmannii and D. finlaysoniana look big enough to start feeding. I use freeze dried bloodworms, ground up into powder. A dental pick or sewing needle is a good tool to apply it. A 10 power magnifying glass is very helpful to see what you're doing. Just a tiny speck of food on each plant.

Weekly feeding of one leaf per plant is good for D. finlaysoniana. Burmannii can be fed more if you keep a close eye on it.

Good growing,
Mike
