I was looking over my nepenthes, looking for progress on the basal and such, when I came across this, can someone tell me what it is, just a defect? It is solid, so not nectar even though my plant is very sticky everywhere else.Image

That's a dormant growth point. You'll find one on the stem just above every leaf. On some plants it'll be nearly invisible, while on others it's a rather sizable bump. When you propagate the plant through cuttings or the main growth point is damaged, that's where new growth will start.
