I'm planning to put some CPs on my plant rack that I just bought, it is under my wax apple tree, so I would like to ask if caterpillar poop and dead leaves are ok for sundews, pinguiculata, heliamphora, and other "open" traps. If they are not ok I will just move my rack. I am worried that the open traps will catch leaves and caterpillar poop instead of bugs.

Did you mean:
They are plants growing in bogs
Or
There are trees growing in bogs

I can only really speak from a Pinguicula perspective (ohhh... I like that... anyway, getting distracted!), and it'll depend on what type of butterworts you're growing (this is more due to basic growing conditions than poop and foliage, mind). Though, generally, I don't think caterpillar poo or dead leaves will be an issue, considering where some of these plants grow in their natural environments. :-) Both organic substances will decay, so as long as it's not a liberal coating that could affect the nutritional value of the soil, I don't think it'd be a problem. I may be mistaken, though!
