Without specific care, leaf cuttings die.
Leaf cuttings are great for a hobbyist with a little skill.
But they are not too user-friendly for an absolute neophyte.

The best way to get leaf cuttings is to ask on this or some other Forum.
Specify which species or variety you're looking for.

If you're not looking for something rare or exotic, you should have no problem.
Someone will probably jump in and offer a free leaf cutting if you pay for postage.
Postage is about $4.00 for a padded puffy envelope with tracking.
