I looked down the pitcher of my Sarracenia Purpurea and saw a small jumping spider.
I thought he was a goner

However, it somehow escaped as I saw it on the sides of one of my pots. I'm guessing it was using the pitcher as shelter?

Spiders rarely get caught in pitchers as they continuously play out a web line that they can simply climb to escape.
There are some species of spiders that actually seek Sarracenia and Nepenthes to intentionally live in the pitchers.
