a few days ago i found a tutorial on (what they tought to be) the best way to grow moss. they used a container with at the bottom a layer of gravel for drainage, on top op that some root cloth, on top of that charcoal to keep the water clean that will leak through, and on top of that a mixture of peat/sand, and then ofcourse the kind of moss you'd like to grow.

but now i was wondering if a setup like this would be possible with sphagnum and carnivorous plants, how does the moss react to charcoal?

and if it does work, what kind of charcoal is best used?
