so ive got some sarra's which flowered long ago, and the pods have aged and turned brown, the stalk is dying off.
but the pod didnt crack open.

is it ok to harvest, or do i need to wait for it to actually crack?

the whole thing is brown and crispy 3/4 down the stalk..

Hi Glenn
if the pod is brown and crispy it will be ok to crack it open but normally it best to wait till the things splits then you know for sure the seed is ripe , this hot weather usually dose it for us , not all mine are browned off yet ,some still green ,was a late season this year !! ,some have other still some time off being ready
