I found some Roridula seeds that I ordered a few months ago that I never planted because I was going to try tissue culture. All my tissue culture attempts have been terrible so I will plant the seeds. Attempting to follow the instructions for planting led to mold growth on some seeds I tried already.

Can someone with experience give specific instructions on how to germinate the seeds to prevent them from growing mold.

In my experience, mold growth indicates a non-viable seed. Sow them on a regular peat mix, maybe on the sandy side, and most importantly, try to give the seeds night temps below 50F. Putting a thin layer of soil on top of the seeds isn't a bad idea either, since they seem to have a difficult time getting rooted from the surface.
