I am looking to find a list of all true pygmy Drosera. Every list I have found is incomplete or inaccurate. Two lists I've found the most common are from Barry Rice and the Victorian Carnivorous Plant society but they do not match each other.

Where is the best place to find something like this or am I doomed to individually verify each species as I find it?

Pygmies are listed as: Section Bryastrum

I think I counted 53 species in the latest species tabulation here: http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq5275.html

I have Lowrie's Carnivorous Plants of Australia Magnum Opus books.
I can look up what he said on the subject this coming weekend.

Good growing,
Mike

I'd really appreciate it Mike, I've actually been using the sarracenia site and it doesn't have some of the species listed as other lists and vice versa... I think I need to put Lowrie's books on my birthday/Christmas list cause I think he's the only person who has really catalogued them in their entirety minus new hybrids from cultivation.

Barry's list should be accurate, updated not too long ago. Cross-checking lists isn't at all a reliable way of determining which species are valid because the lists you're checking against may themselves be old, and include / miss species that have since been lumped / split from others. In the end you just end up with a pile of the oldest surviving names, because those are the ones that will be included on all lists whether old or new.

That being said, do get the magnum opus. It's a great resource.
