Hello all. Matt and I are selling our first Wacky Traps Venus Flytrap from "The Flytrapstore.com Lab and Tissue Culture Program" (Come on! We like the fancy name!) :D Anyway, below is the "official announcement" of the ebay auction which began just a few minutes ago (Tuesday evening, January 25, 2011, 7:35 p.m. U.S. Mountain Standard Time (UTC -7)) Questions or comments about anything in this announcement can be posted in the FlytrapStore.com -- Public Discussions section of the Forum, and our email address is sales@flytrapcare.com (Matt and I both receive all mail sent to that address --Steve)

EBAY AUCTION
'Wacky Traps' Venus Flytrap

Image

'Wacky Traps' is a very unusual and rare Venus Flytrap registered as an official cultivar with the International Carnivorous Plant Society. For more information about 'Wacky Traps', its origins and history, please read the FlytrapCare.com registered cultivar entry: Wacky Traps

In the FlytrapStore.com Laboratory and Tissue Culture Program we are trying to propagate this unusual Venus Flytrap. However, propagation is slow and erratic, and at this time we have just this one single plant of 'Wacky Traps' ready for sale. We are therefore offering it at auction at ebay rather than listing it at FlytrapStore.com in order to give the widest number of interested persons the opportunity to buy it if they wish. The accompanying photos are of this particular Venus Flytrap.

We recommend this plant and auction only for experienced growers or collectors because there is always a risk of losing a plant to one of several common mistakes or problems often encountered by inexperienced growers, a mistake made worse if the price bid for the plant at auction becomes fairly high.

This 'Wacky Traps' Venus Flytrap will be shipped bareroot (not potted) ready for planting. So be sure to have a planting container and appropriate growing medium ready for it. Soil for Venus Flytraps, article at FlytrapCare.com: http://www.flytrapcare.com/media-soil-f ... traps.html

NOTE: The winner of this auction at Ebay will also receive, free of charge, a comfortable, all-cotton, high-quality silkscreened FlytrapStore.com T-shirt in his or her preferred size.
