This solar powered owl scarecrow.

The Dalen SRHO 4 Solar Owl Natural Scarecrow Device.

18" tall and its head bobbles from side to side with either a light breeze or by the solar panel on the back of its head.
The solar panel has a two minute timer on it - so it moves the head every two minutes.

There is room on the inside to add rocks and gravel to weigh the device down so it can be used on deck railings so it won't fall over.

You have to move it around however so that the Blue Jays, Crows and Squirrels don't get use to it being in one spot.

There is one model on the internet that makes "hooting" noises but it isn't solar and runs on two AA batteries.

The best price I found on the internet for this solar model was $38.45 and this price includes shipping.

If the enemy birds start pooping on its head then you know it might not be doing its job.

There are lots of different owl scarecrows that you can buy on the internet.
The key is the eyes!

The UPS man delivered my solar owl on wed. morning.
I immediately put the owl outside on my deck railing next to my VFT's.

The owl is big and has wicked eyes!
Very realistic looking and it will scare people.
The photo does not give this scarecrow owl any justice.

The solar panel on the back of its head works great!
Every two minutes the head turns sideways and bobbles a little bit.
The head will also do a 360 and look behind itself.
Any critter thinking of sneaking up behind the owl is in for a big surprise.

Forget that building cages out of chicken wire nonsense to protect your plants.
I'm going to have some fun with the crows and blue jays now!
I've already heard some stress signals from some birds nearby.
The birds nearby my place already don't like what they see.
This is a great investment!

Ordered today. Thanks dude.

Thanks dude. I've lost a darlingtonia, 3 cupped traps, a couple sarrs and some other plants due to squirrels digging in them thinking they may have buried some nuts in there last year. You know, even though these pots didn't exist last year.

Seriously, how are squirrels not extinct?
