I've not tried it, but given their native habitat which is Mediterranean and not particularly humid, you would think that the natural germination would not be accustomed to high humidity. Having said that, when I have germinated them it is always in a very wet medium so the seed's local micro climate would be a high humidity anyway. My guess, and that's all it is, is that a humidity dome is unnecessary and may easily lead to mould.
