I repotted my flytraps around 11 days ago in a 1:1 mix of moorland gold peat alternative and perlite after finding out that soil from amazon was pretty dodgy

now theyre looking even worse! just repot shock? or?

That does look bad. Did you rinse the Moorland Gold before you used it? The ingredients says that it uses coir, so it may have salts in it. What did they look like before you repotted?

I don't have any really good advice for you. If nothing else, I would definitely try flushing the pots. Do you have a TDS meter? You can test the water that comes off of the pot to see if it is very high. If it isn't then we need to look at another cause. How wet are you keeping the pots?

Honestly, I don't know. The leaves look like they are rotting from the end, so that makes me think that it is too wet but your description of your watering routine seems perfect. Black edges might indicate mineral burn, but without a TDS meter or aquarium test strips, there is no way to know. And because of that, there is no way to know how much flushing is enough.

I'm sorry I'm not more help.

Flush them a bunch of times and cross your fingers. Seek out proper soil. Organic peat moss and perlite.

Unfortunately, peat isn't available to him in Scotland. That is why he is looking for an alternative.
