I checked on the plants that I have in the cold part of the trailer. During the winter it pretty much ranges from the 30F’s to the 60F’s in there…I would say a averaging in the mid-50’s so far this winter. Light is just ambient light coming in through some windows several feet away.

These filiformis appear to be breaking dormancy already. Should I go ahead and move them back to the grow room and under the lights? My instinct is saying they’re ready to start growing and that nap time is over. They’ve been napping for a tad over two months.

Looks like I need to start doing some repotting, too. This will be a first this year for me…repotting plants that I either started from seed or repotting plants that I’ve grown from small ones. I need to get energized a bit. :)

I think a couple of mine are trying to wake up but not to that extent. We just got over a 10 day freeze a early last week. Unfortunately I think we may still have some more frozen days so I am going to hold off until early March or so.

That’s what seems crazy with these…we’ve had it down in the teens and low twenties for a week and a half…and they’re starting to wake up. They’ve got their on alarm clock, I guess…

I plan to repot it and send it into Spring growing mode under lights this week.
That’ll sure be stunning to see it in the summer, keep me and the others updated. That is one drosera on my wishlist.

It looks like mine are also, along with some of my VFT's. It's too early here as I have seen snow up to and including the end of February. Not going to chance it. I already lost my Cobra Lily. Not going to lose anything else due to my being in a rush.

I brought some of mine into the grow room a couple of days ago...it will be interesting to see how they're responding to the warmth and (more) light.

My NJ Filiformis is doing the same thing, unfurling its hibernaculum. It was frozen a week ago. I am considering going with the flow also.

Are you going to give it a haircut and get rid of the old leaves? Either way is cool, just wondering. But, if you're going to trim them I'd go ahead before the new growth suddenly explodes one day. ;)

Thanks for the tip. I have been keeping them on my unheated (enclosed) porch. I am fearful that if the temp dips too low the plants won’t come back alive, a deep freeze is still possible. I’ll find a place in my basement near a window that they can continue to wake up.

Also a few of my sarracenia are developing new pitchers too. I was hoping to let them wake up on my porch.

I start waking up my drosera Dreamcycle first week of February with my flytraps. Under a 4 foot florescent light.
