Snow is actually a good thing as it adds insulation and protects it from drying winds. Personally, I'm a bit cautious and would cover the plants with some sort of mulch like pine needles or straw. I've also used oak leaves in the past which is fine as long as they all get removed in the spring.

i also consider myself a bit cautious haha :D ill definitely try this next dormancy to free up fridge space, thanks!
