I’m planning on building an outdoor bog garden and was wondering if my plants needed any rodent protection (squirrels, etc.) — two Sarrs, multiple vft and maybe some dewy dudes —

The most effective protection I have found is an outdoor cat or dog. In lieu of that, you will likely need some type of cage to protect them from tree rats. Before I had a cat, I had a chicken coop that I got on Amazon. You can see it at post411575.html#p411575

If you have “squirrels, etc” you’ll be ok…until you’re not. That day will be a bummer.

In addition to several "lawn tigers", I used chicken wire as a squirrel deterrent:

My tree rats weren't inclined to climb the floppy fence. YMMV.
