Possibly Temperature fluctuations due to Climate Change. I know our oak trees in Minnesota produced and dropped acorns 2x last season and several other trees did the same in Central Minnesota.

it's high 50s low 60s and 40s to mid 30s. but these didn't go dormant like my intermedia did.

Are they Florida filiformis plants, by any chance? The ones that I've gotten don't seem to know what winter is: they don't go dormant, and they bloom every chance they get.
