Moss has suddenly started popping up in my soil. Also, there’s this weird brown stuff on the soil too. How do I get rid of them both?

This is only happening in certain pots. The bag of peat I used for those pots was from the same brand I used before, but the peat in the bag didn't look very good compared to the previous bag. It had a different tint and lots of sticks and bark.

The moss is there to stay, it just comes back sometimes. I guess you could take tweezers and pick out each bit as it comes up, but you'll be doing that forever.
The weird brown stuff actually looks like a type of sphagnum moss. That stuff should be OK as long as you can keep it from overwhelming the seedlings.

Doesn't look like any moss I've seen. The brown stuff looks almost like a web. It seems too stiff for mold though.

I though moss is bad for the plants?

Moss is fine for large plants. But not for small seedlings. Before you plant your seeds/seedlings, put the soil in a glass jar or metal pot. Then pour boiling water on the soil. Should kill any mold spores.

You need to do proper hoeing and then maintain it properly. It looks like it's not maintained well.
