My plants developed a bad case of mealy bugs, they went from looking great to half dead in a week. I gave them a good dose of Bayer 3 in 1 yesterday, and some Diatomaceous earth while waiting for its delivery. One plant suffered a lot. Should I repot them and treat again with Bayer 3 in 1? Any advice would be helpful.

That is what I'd recommend. You can unpot and then spray the roots/rhizome off with Bayer. That should take care of it.

Do mealy bugs impact the root system or stay above? I’d think the shock of being transplanted would put the stressed plant through more stress. Just asking because I didn’t think they went below the soil.
