Hi everyone. I recently got my nepenthes ventricosa and was advised by the nursery to always have it standing in some water. But there seems to be some advice online to take note of root rot. Can someone please advise me.

Typically, it is best to keep nepenthes out of standing water as it could cause problems related to overwatering, including root rot. Keeping the medium moist by top watering when necessary is the best way to go.

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. The LFSM they are planted in holds enough water as it is and already produces the risk of rot, and tray watering multiplies that risk a dozen times. I suggest top-watering only when the top of the soil gets dry.
