I have been really pleasantly surprised at how fast that one is growing. I can't wait for it's next pitcher. It is just starting to stripe up.

My beefy N. thorelli x veitchii 'candy' - "Taffy" showing off it's pretty sunset colors.


N. veitchii ('Gunung Murud striped x candy striped') - "Vanity" is getting nicer and nicer. I really hope sibling "Vortex" starts to get these colors soon.

Lost about 20% of my collection in a recent wildfire evacuation, including my candy x candy veitchii male, my edwardsiana cross, and a number of sentimental plants, but things could have been much worse All flowers aborted but most of my breeders survived. I am currently reciting incantations over my N. x Song of Melancholy in the hopes they pull through in okay shape.

Camping with tropical plants in the desert. Fun stuff.


Sadness is a wilted flower. At least I know "Posh" is a dude now. It is a super vigorous platychila x vogelii and is continuing on just fine.

A random few had fun on their camping trip and put out nice pitchers for me to enjoy when we got home, including N. veitchii 'Bareo', N. veitchii 'Gunung Murud striped x Candy striped', and N. spectabilis 'Bandahara x Sibuatan'


And I am very excited about one newish plant - N. 'Rokko' x boschiana female

I took a look around the photo of your tent. I have a couple question: Do you have any problems when one plant drips on the one below it or when one shades the one below it? Sorry to hear about the fire.

You know, I thought I was going to have more issues than I have so far. I paid close attention when I had a fungal outbreak in the tent, and actual physical proximity didn't seem to have much of an affect on spread (although I was careful not to let diseased leaves rest on healthy ones). I have had pests jump between plants in the same row but that's obviously minimal, being indoors.

It has taken a bit of shuffling to get everyone at a light level they are happy with, but layering vining types with plants that "spread" more lets light reach the lower levels just fine. The only ones cranky at the moment are my veitchii; they tend to sunburn if left towards the top.

Thanks. I hung a chain up in my grow room but only tillandsias and a couple orchids on it, most of my neps are still seedlings.
