Came back from a 4 day vacation to find a white substance on this young pitcher. Is this evidence of mealybugs or something else? If so is it dangerous and how should I deal with it?

I don't think those are mealy bugs. They are oblong and fuzzy. These do like they are some sort of pest, perhaps white flies. They could be aphid shedding but I don't see any aphids.

I am not seeing mealy bugs, but sometimes I get that white residue after I spray some fungicide, like “captan” on it. Did you happen to spray something on it before you left ?
