Both of my sundews have been getting this moss growing on their soil. It doesn't look like it is harming them, but I would like to know what it is and if it could potentially be harmful?

If it were to overtake the plant, how would I deal with that.

Looks like it was caused by fertilizer on the media or the peat is breaking down. I have replaced peat for less.

At this stage, it could be algae, the start of a moss, or a number of other things. Either way its nothing to worry about at the moment, wait and see what it turns into and deal with it if necessary then.
