My vft in an other post is in a half cut red solo cup. I know eventually I would have to repot it what time of the year would be best to repot? its in lfsm right now should I switch it to peat/perlite when I repot?

You can repot it anytime that it needs it, but expect it to decline a bit when you do. Don't worry, it'll recover. However, if they can, most people wait until dormancy to repot.
As to the media, peat/perlite or LFSM are both good choices. I think most people use LFSM, I do, and it works very well.
