I just got a little Utricularia alpina and I can already see that it's going to need a repot soon. Any advice as I've never had any utricularia before and I don't want to damage the roots or traps.

You don't really repot utrics... They kinda do it themselves. I put several catch pots around mine and the stolons and runners run out and colonize new land. You can also replace half of the sphag and take a div - main way to repot utrics is by divs. As for yours, it's FAR from a repot. They'll go until there's leaves from every corner of the pot. Then you divide and can move.

It would be a good idea to gently slide the whole thing out of that pot and put it in a net pot of similar size. Use lfsm to fill in any gaps in the new pot if there is a size difference in the pots.

Ok that makes me feel a lot better. I've got a nice mat of sphagnum that I was going to grow it beside/ on top of. It should love that.

On a side not, I've heard mixed things about fertilizing them. I don't plan too, but I do use 1/4 strength Maxsea on some near by plants and I don't want to accidentally hurt it.
