Just got this Nepenthes Hamata x Glandulifera today and when I got it out of the package I noticed this black spot on the crown of my nepenthes and I'm worried it might be crown rot. Or is it something else?

Contact NE ASAP. Get a new one. Then, I think it's crown rot. If the area is mushy and soft, chop it off until it's all green. (After NE confirms they'll replace it).
Then, hopefully it can activate a lower node. This is never guaranteed, so go to customer service FIRST.

Thankfully I just received a response saying that I could replace it :)

OK. Now scrape all the black off. And keep scraping until no more black. Rub the thing with fungicide if you have any (non sulfur or copper) and then wait for a new node to activate.
