I'm planning a few big wine barrel planters with things like Monster(i)a, Maiden Hair ferns, and a ground cover like baby tear, but I was wondering if I could grow any variety of of sticky CP to act as a ground cover, and mosquito eater.

I read somewhere on the forum that someone had a lot of them growing as "weeds" and was hoping that might mean I could grow them in the barrels with the other plants, rather than having to hang them up, out of the tap water watering system.

So...

Are the any carnivorous plants that will grow in store bought potting mix?

I've heard of some folks trying it with Mexican Pinguicula and report some success but I don't know if I'd want to chance it. Perhaps I'll give it go before the season is out. I want to say Stylidium can do it but they only get carnivorous during their flowering period
